So I am adding a widget to hold my AdSense code. I have not done this in a while, and I don't remember what I did in the past. Can someone tell me what I should put in the title of the widget, please?

Would Sponsors be acceptable to Google, or will get get me blasted/banned or something?

Anything which implies an endorsement of your site is not acceptable to Google - I've had this discussion with my Adsense representative and he said you can't use words like 'sponsor'.

Simply saying 'Advertisement' is quite acceptable and the best way to go.

You can always just leave the title blank

      This:

"We don't allow publishers to mislead the users in any way. The only labels we allow to put above ads are "sponsored links" or "advertisements"."

      Here is the source

      Exactly this.

Adding text for an Adsense ad is begging for trouble. You would have to be trying to get banned on purpose.
