Ranking depends on country?

Is it true that ranking depends on a country you where from?. I have a friend that his site is on page one of Google. The keyword he is ranking is "make money online". Yes its true he rank on that keyword in the Philippines. But when I go to vacation as a tourist in the US. I've tried to search his site with a keyword "make money online". His site is never found in the page one in the US, and when I got back here and searched it again. His site is on the top search again. Could it be ranking depends on your country?.

    No friend, ranking does not depend upon location, but the way you are working, the location you are targeting and the search results depends on the location.

      Yes, Ranking depends upon your location. Google search search is local now. For USA, it's domain is Google.com and for Philippines its Google.com.ph. Search term varies for both domains.

    Google.com is a global search engine while google.com.ph is google search engine for Philippines. So, same keyword will have different ranking in these two search engines.

      Google.com ranks is not depend on location it shows global search result

      and you have one more Google extension for your country that is like Google.co.in for India Google.co.uk for England etc and this platform rank will show differently

    Local ranking and Global ranking at Google is different. So, you must expect something difference in results too. Because for a certain keyword the site you get #1 at Google.co.uk, you may not find it even in #10 at Google.com.
