Fellow warriors,

After purchasing an aged domain and a new site is built, all the backlinks to that aged domain will now become a 404 (not found) page when you click on the links. So, how do you make all those links, which are in the hundreds get redirected to the new site?

Thanks.

David.

You have a few options, and only one really good one

    1. Rebuild the old site with the same permalink structure and content
    2. Scrape a list of all indexed URLs and only rebuild the sub-pages which have PR using the same permalink structure or by 301ing each one to a corresponding new page
    3. Let the link juice bleed out, and forget them
    4. 301 redirect all the 404's to your home page ****

Use the Wordpress Plugin: Link Juice Keeper. Free plug in that redirects all links to pages that don't exist anymore back to your homepage.

    Hope this helps.
