Hi Guys,

I'm working on a free resource of entrepreneurs about setting up their website.

No opt in, no $$ associated with it. Just a great resource I can share here and through other platforms that others can use to promote their business and boost economies throughout the world.

I'm hoping you can help with your best SEO tips. I already have a draft together but I am looking for extra tips.

Hope you can help.

Cheers,

Hamish

The best investment I have ever made in SEO is to buy links from high PR domains.
This works very well for money sites.
However one need to know whether the claimed high PR domains are for real or not as there are many people selling links of faked high PR domain names.

I'd start from the basics of on-page SEO. Check h1, title, page filename/slug, content, and meta description (last not necessary).

If it's an existing site, fire up your favourite SEO check tool. Screaming Frog, Link Assistant's Auditor, etc... But the most important tool is "view HTML source".

You also need to have an idea on how many links there are on the page, and how many they're going to sell. Dilutes the link juice to your money page.
      Signature
Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

      What's your excuse?

My best SEO tips is not just writing your content related to keywords but providing engaging and helpful tips to searchers and readers.

With Google's latest Hummingbird which you may or may not hear, it is now ranking content related to topics rather than keywords.

Behind every keyword searcher types, there is an underlying question.

If you can address those questions aka their concerns, half the battle of getting your site on top rankings will be won.

The other half is getting your readers to share with their friends through social media like Facebook and other connections.

If you can do videos, that will be better.

With that said, here is my basic outline of the site Google wants to see.

Social bookmarking, article posting, forum posting - they actually all yield minimal results with maximum effort.

There are only two real, effective ways:
    1) Network like crazy /cold email and get backlinks to your site from relevant and high quality websites.

    2) Hire a high quality SEO company to do it for you.

    My tip?

Don't over-think it. I have plenty of sites that are structured nothing like the image above and they rank just fine. Why? Because my content is on topic and I'm targeting keywords that aren't impossible to rank for, which means I don't have to spend a ton of money or time on each.
