What sort of things have you guys/gals done in SEO lately where you've seen immediate 1st page results for SERPs. I'm talking like minutes to a couple of days.

I ask because just a few years ago, about anything anyone did showed up immediately on the first page and some stuck and some faded off.

Anyone seeing anything similar today? Google's getting smarter, that's for sure. I tried keyword stuffing my meta description and title and that didn't work. LOL!

Ranking was piece of cake before Humming Bird update came out.

Now, its more about originality and links you get.

Google is getting smarter. Focus on the user and not the search engine. Be original and trial and error is key to seeing what works and what does not.

In my opinion, it would be press releases. I have seen some pretty fast ranking on a press release as long as it is a good quality press release.

LOL. keyword stuffing is the surest way to fail

If you want nearly immediate rankings, the only way to do it is choosing a longer-tail keyword and target it through backlinks from highly relevant and authoritative websites.

Fastest first page ranking i get is youtube bar none. Without eve backlinks white, grey or blackhat.

I just optimize it on page targeting long tail keyword and it works

301 redirects work pretty well for near instant results

After the first reply I wrote a long retort, but didn't want to say much until I got more feedback. I deleted or didn't finish it. My first sentence started out... Google is getting smarter... which made me giggle when I saw RDB85's reply. LOL!

Anyway, I haven't put up any optimized vids for myself or others recently to see if immediate results were seen. I know a couple years back it only took minutes to be seen on G.

I'm hoping these replies are for recent experiences, because this isn't Google 2012. Things change fast with them. And the only thing constant with them, is their changing algorithm.

Long-tail keywords, relatively low competition, and a site that's good enough (some content + decent link profile). This is hardly a secret. I'm about 50th for the word that I consider to be my main keyword, but on first page for several combinations to other words. Getting another combination to first page is about as immediate as it gets with Google.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

    What's your excuse?
