Problem with 301 redirections after a domain name expiration

I have a little problem with my website
We will call my main domain : (maindomain.net)
For this domain I have made a 301 redirection from an old domain name that I own (that we will call 301domain.net)

My problem is that my current domain name (maindomain.net) is not ranked anymore in google for some of my keywords since yesterday and in the GWT I received yesterday a manual action message for "uninformative content"
And the weird thing is that my domain used at the start for the 301 redir (301domain.net) is ranked for almost all my keywords on google instead of my main domain (maindomain.net)

The problem has started after the expiration of 301domain.net (that is now active). <--- I don't know if it's linked

What can I do ?
Invert the redirection ?
Wait ?
Make a URL change in GWT ?

Thanks in advance

Have you been waiting for three month or more?
You should renew your old domain name and redirect it and... be waiting.

No, before this week-end and before the expiration of my 301 domain all was ok

So you think that it's better to make the 301 redirection from maindomain.net --> 301domain.net ??

The Google slap will probably end up hitting the new domain, 301s are basically merging two different pages together.

If I had a slapped site I would be testing the heck out of it, lol. I would be interested in seeing a slapped domain redirected to a 2.0 domain with a couple of longtail keywords already ranked on the 2.0 domain just to see how the Google slap impacts the ranked longtail pages/keywords.

Am I reading this right... you 301ed an old domain and let it expire?!?

Step one is to get that old domain back ASAP because without it you have nothing.

And I would forget about the new domain. If it is the one with the penalty, bury it, cut your loses and move on.
