Testing keywords - PPC Campaign

I am using Bing PPC to a presell which promotes an affiliate product. I have a number of keywords which I'm testing but would like some help with the process.

Obviously some keywords will work better than others. However....

When do you decide that you should no longer use a particular keyword? How many clicks?

Also, how do you know if it's your presell/content that needs changing, and not the keywords?

For example, if 5 out of 20 keywords are performing well, is that good? Should you focus on these 5? Or should you aim for more, by changing the presell content, headline etc.

As you can see split testing is something I don't have much experience with...

I suppose in an ideal situation, you could split test different landing pages, with different ads and keywords at the same time.

But I would need a lot of money to test with, plus I've also read it's best to split test one thing at a time.

Would appreciate any feedback...

Hey pal,it seems that you are having a hard time trying to find the right keywords?

-before you decide that you don`t want a keyword anymore, you should first make it have a high quality score and it will make no sales.Approximately 100 clicks to see if it makes any sales.

-you may have found a great "buyer "keyword but your landing page is not working well with it or you have a well written landing page but the keyword is not a "buyer" one.In the first case you should improve your landing page and in the second case you should quit using this keyword as it will bring you traffic and high click through rate but no sales, meaning that you pay for clicks with no return of your buck.So obviously you should focus on finding keywords that make sales and keep improving them by testing all aspects.

    Hope this helps a bit.

There is a feature called "adwords campaign experiment(ACE)". You can give it a try to see if it solves your problem.
