Can a blog help my website?

Hi... I have an established optimized website - which already has my one main keyword all through it. I want to improve my search engine ranking and use my other secondary keywords. Should I attach a blog to my website and create a page for each secondary keyword or just create additional pages in my website and optimize the secondary keywords there? I want to optimize everything so I can monetize the website and/or the blog.

Thanks so much!

Sure why not, on each blog post you can target a long tail keyword, interlink all of your blog posts and your website, you'll be getting a lot more traffic in a few months.

Perfect. In just a few words you say something that people try to learn and manage to do it after a couple of hours reading online. Nice! Just to say that this long tail keyword should be RELATED to the main keyword (and in most cases it would be perfect if the main keyword is PART of the long tail keyword!)

You can still target your keywords under one page if that's more preferable by you.

Just ensure you don't over optimize your web page for them.

Thanks everyone.... I think I will go ahead and add the blog.... Is it better that I purchase each secondary keyword for each blog page OR can the url look something like this: www.mainwebsite.com/blog/keywords (as far as SEO purposes go?

      Thanks so much!

Thanks, and yeah I would agree.

I don't know what you mean by purchase, but yeah the idea is to have "www.mainwebsite.com/blog/keyword" so you've got the idea. You can easily install WordPress on your website and get everything set up.

Just remember that a blog isn't an end all, you still need to do on-page and off-page SEO. Blogs are a great way to snag longtail keyword traffic though.

      Thank you....

For further SEO purposes, if I'm using videos and songs for keyword ranking purposes on my main website, can I also refer to the same songs and videos on my Facebook page and blog to get ranking juice. OR will I be competing with myself...

      Thanks

If your aim is to monetize your website then I believe the blog is the right way to go. It would provide more visitors to your site and you will be able to optimize each page to your specific secondary keyword.

Yes off-course. A blog is a way to give a descriptive information to the users. I think you should also provide some space for posting user's views. This will attract more users.
