Ad banner in header

I am already having three google adsense ads on my each post. Is it ok, if I have an ad banner in my site's header (from an advertiser other than google). Will it be ok with the google policies and terms? I don't want to either to get banned my adsense account or loose ranking in the search engines.

    You are allowed to, but make sure that it is clear that the header ad is not part of AdSense, otherwise Google will most likely penalize you.
