What is Fresh Content?

Well, of course I know that new content is fresh content. What I am wondering is if it is considered fresh content (as far as SEO is concerned) when I revise a page or make changes to it. If I make changes to a page on my site, does Google see that as a reason to come back and look at the page again?

Thanks

No. This is not fresh content. Almost 99% of SE's (I am not sure if there are any that won't do this!) consider fresh content something new that did NOT exist in the page/website before... For example -> a new article in the blog, a new thread in the forum, etc.

Fresh Content is something that is 100% original and has not been copied or exists anywhere on the internet. A blog post which you had written yourself would be 100% original.

Ok - Thanks. I was not sure. I guess part of my question is if I revise some of my pages to make better use of long tail keywords, will it be of any benefit?

All of the content on our website is original. I check everything with Copyscape or Plagspotter before it is posted just to be sure.

      Thanks

Making modifications/edits on existing content doesn't make it fresh content.

By revising your content and making better use of long tail keywords it will be beneficial. Making modifications doesn't make fresh content turn into unoriginal content or anything.

Thanks Solarstone - I understand. I guess more accurately my question should have been on revising the page rather than fresh content.

          Thanks All!
