Newbie's first website, duplicate content questions

hello I was recommended here by a friend since he can not answer my specific questions.

Basically this is my first site. Vst Cabinet | The Best Free VST's on the Web I have yet to put content on there because im scared that google may see my content as duplicate. My site is basically a directory to VST (virtual) instruments free for download. Now each of my posts has a description about the vst and a link that takes to to the original download site. this is an example of one of my posts: Drumatic 3 | Vst Cabinet.

my question is what steps should i take to not become badly ranked on google? I plan on having a great backlink profile. i just dont want the duplicate content (which i plan on re-editing to the best of my ability) ruin my chances of ranking well. any help is greatly apprieciated.

    Drumatic 3 is a virtual-analogue drum synthesizer
All sounds are 100% synthetic and allow an enormous flexibility and variation.

Sounds: Bassdrum, Snaredrum, Handclap, 2 Toms, Hihats and a Rimshot / Bell

    Key features:
Graphical envelopes for amplitude and modulation
Load / save presets for single sounds
Simple but effective effect section for each sound with distortion and bitcrusher and a filter.
6 Stereo outputs, assignable for each sound.
All parameters can be automated (midi-CC not yet supported)
That content was taken straight from e-phonic. I'm suprised it's even indexing.

yes this is kinda what i mean. i do want to at least have the features listed so that people can know some info. i mean i guess i could give my own review for each one. would google downrank my site even if i have a link on the same page that directs straight to the source? (ephonic)

Yeah my advice would be to ask yourself the question.

Other than the price of my domain and monthly web hosting, what value am I adding to the internet?

I'm all about the love when it comes to learning and if I could tell people what I really think of some of their ideas, all my posts would be deleted for inciting hate and violence. :p:p:p

You're making a copy of someone elses idea. Do you think the world is searching for all 300 versions of an Amazon category? Or do they just visit Amazon.

Does Google list all versions of the same page in results? No

You pages are within that "No" group.

      Learned something?

well dang man why are you such a hateful guy you know that stuff causes cancer? but yes i completely understand your point. me taking others work, but thats not all ill be doing on there. it will also become a review site for new releases and new midi based instruments. and hopefully a forum too. i mean i am a musician and im doing this niche because its somewhat of a passion, not that this means anything to you. the free vsts is just a way to get some added traffic for the real stuff.

either way ive decided im rewritting them all giving my little 2 cents so that it will be at least original.

Hi Corey sorry about the girls here.

Hey mate, what you need to do is write a review of each of the products you are suggesting. I would write it at 600+ words with 2 correctly tagged pictures and a video of some sort.

First off, make sure that you do not have duplicate content on any of your pages, as they will be placed in Google's supplemental index, and will never rank. Then, once you have unique content on your site, make sure that it is well optimized for your targeted keywords. Hers is an excellent post showing you all of the things that you should/shouldn't do when creating a site:
How to follow the Google webmaster guidelines

Now, once you've got all of that covered, start building high quality backlinks and your site will be start to rank highly.

Hey thanks for the tip. I think 600+ words might be a little overkill for a single free vst. Though on the actual products that i will be selling im sure 600 words would be smart. ill benefit fromt that in the future.. I do have pics for each one and a video for most. thanks again.

If you still cannot do the review or create unique content, maybe you can make a simple video with the content and place it there.. I mean it is not the best way but you won't be hit by a content penalty.. The best is to do a review on every item and tell the visitors why you think it is good for them..

    best
