Ads Disapproved Due to Robot.txt

Hello All,
First post from a new member (seeking help). I am creating some ads in google adwords, I am using direct links in some of my ads. But, few of them are getting disapproved due to the reason "robot.txt" which I tried to google and found that it happens due to robot.txt file error on the landing page or permissions in the robot.txt file.
So, I am quite confused as the destination links in my ads are of big shopping stores and how come they can keep an error in robot.txt or disallow google bots? Those stores rank high in google.
Please let me know if this disapproval could happen due to any other reason?
