Using word "the" before domain name

For example if I have selected domain name XY. If its not available, is it a good idea to:

(i) Put word "the" before XY;

(ii) Put a numeral say "4" before XY; or

(iii) Suffix a word say "hq" after XY.

The SEO experts may please advise.

    You didn't mention if they were only .coms...Personally, I don't like THE...you will have leakage to the url without the THE...Don't try to be that clever...Find another name.

    There is no difference at all. Google and other SE's just ignore words like THE, but if it's already taken, something like a short prefix would be great, but I won't use numbers (as this could be understood differently by people! -> Example: XY2 could means that this is another version of the original XY (and this means that the XY2 copied the original website...) Maybe something like XY4you or XY4u (if the words XY are meaningful) or something like this. Make it still be easy to remember!
