Should I bother if Pinterest is #1-3?

I've been doing a lot of reading on selecting a niche and choosing the right keywords etc.

I may have found an interesting niche, but the top 4 sites on Google are Pinterest boards.

Should I move on?

Thank you!

Nope, not based on only that; that's giving up way too soon in your research. When researching a niche you have to look at more than just who pops up on page one. That's just one way of getting to potential customers. So Pinterest boards pop up on one keyword on page one. So what?

How many keywords have you found for this niche? And how many other competitors have you looked at?

What kind of monetization are you going for?

Definitely depends on the niche. If you're going to be selling a products that mix well with Pinterest's userbase, then definitely go for it.

Thank you all for the reply.

Yes, the niche would mix well with Pinterest's audience.

Rod - For this niche, there appears to be 500+ related keywords. The competitors look like they'd be easy to smoke. As for monetization, a combo of adsense and affiliate is what I would like to do but open to ideas.

In my past "success", I built and sold a site for 5 figures on Flippa and the site was basically an email newsletter that sold affiliate products. So think an email component will be important as well.

    Thanks again

  • Why are you thinking about moving on just because of the Pinterest Boards? With the right content and backlinks, your site can outrank them. It will take some time, but it can be achieved.

As al mentioned, perhaps you should start Pinterest boards around your keywords with pins linking back to your site. You WILL get traffic this way. Make sure that the images in the pins that link back to your site are more compelling than the other images that you pin.

Yes you should. Whenever I see Pinterest that's a good niche to go after, especially if they are in the top positions. That's an easy niche in my eyes.
