Does one just look at most recent news from other sites on the particular niche and re-write the article?

    Hi,

That could be one way but than you'd need to definitely add a twist. Why not take the topic and use a analytical tool like Topsy.com to find relevant content which has created a buzz in social networks. Once you find relevant content that people actual like to share than you can go about improving that content. You need to provide a solution to the reader and that's the best type of content ever.

The problem with your approach is that "new" news may not be popular news so you'll waste time writing something thats only good on that day. Do some more research and view the trends of the news "topic"

I really don't get it, but if you are asking if you can re-write a blog or news post, then my answer is yes as long as the concept is different and style. also give some credits to the source.

I have only 1 question. What's the reason to create a news blog and then only rewrite other top blog's articles... Yes, you can get some extra dollars from Adsense, blogroll sales, but what's the main reason? To be a successful marketer, you should make your visitors stop by your website and that they would come to it again. If they can read the same news on A LOT of websites, next time, they would only visit the FIRST or one of the TOP 10 blogs in Google... And what if your site is NOT there (on the top)? I would do it in a way to share your OPINION and your own thoughts. You should be creative, write in your own style, don't just rewrite other people's thoughts... People like UNIQUE!

    Hi,

What I've noticed from top bloggers is that rewriting "solution" blog posts with a twist is a great strategy to boost your blog. Many times there are bloggers who write content and don't do an in-depth job. Many of them don't add visual aid or going into step-by-step details. If you can find a common problem and than rewrite those making them more in-depth with greater details, images and videos, you'd have a better chance getting noticed.

    I'm speaking from personal experience.

    Thanks,

Merely rewriting news is NOT GOOD ENOUGH. you need to make it your own. You need to put a specific twist to it. This doesn't mean LIE but this does mean COMMENTARY. There is a difference.

There is absolutely no reason to create a news blog unless you are going to create a news blog around a specific twist - like "conspiracys" or something like that.

Then you could fill your blog with aggregates of conspiracy news stories that auto update and write fresh material on your take of those stories.

In my opinion it depends on the situation and who you are "borrowing" ideas from. If it's a blog that is a lot more popular than yours than it won't do much for you as people will most likely resort to that site rather than you own. However if it's on a blog no one knows about then it won't hurt if you "borrow" ideas from them, people will feel more inclined to read your version of it than a version from a site/person they know nothing about. That's just my view from a logical perspective, I'm sure there are many other things to consider.

In saying that though, you want to be able to put unique content out there, so borrowing an idea is one thing but you've also got to put your own twist/flavour to it to make it unique so people find it worthwhile to read, especially if they have already read about that particular issue before on another site.
