invisible people hurting the seo?

Hi,
i got this really strange thing going in my site, i use a wordpress plug-in that records my top 10 posts in the 24H and i got a page that constantly gets 100+ hits a day in this plug in but in google analytics i cant even see that some one have entered there...
since it started i saw a drop in my traffic.
Do you got any idea what could it be and could it be hurting my site?

    If you saw a drop in traffic means it is hurting your site. It may be unwanted script or code that is generating hits. You should immediately uninstall that plugin and then observe website traffic.

      I ate sushi for lunch. Checked adsense, and saw my total was 50% lower than yesterday.
      I immediately upchucked what sushi was left, and vowed never to eat sushi.

    I dont think that a plugin that counts the traffic , be the reason to lose your traffic

      That could very well be the case. Website tracking is quite resource intensive because a database write is much slower than a read. Servers cache outbound stuff, but not inbound. This is especially pronounced if you're on a low-end shared host. Unfortunately WordPress-based self-hosted tracking might be a bad idea.

      OP: What kind of drop in traffic you're seeing? How you're measuring it? What are you comparing it against (last week, last year...)?

    Well, i would say wait a bit more if this is a problem at the Google end it will get fixed up soon but if the problem is somewhere else then I doubt that someone is using some tools against you to ......

    I never saw a conclusive record that botted traffic can hurt google ranking, do you know something else?

    Did you check your bounce rate? if you got hits on site, there should be bounce rate
    shown in google analytics tool.

    i saw a drop from 2.5-3K daily to 700-1.3k.
    maybe its an update/slap releated?
