Hi ,

For my website, if I write a article to submit to multiple blogs etc for backlinks, what is the average time can I expect for google to register those backlinks? I have created backlinks around 4 days ago to multiple blogs, but when google doesn't register those backlinks ... (yet hopefully).

Thanks.

They update what they show every couple of months, so it could be a while still. Keep in mind they don't show everything they have for your site unless you sign up for a Google Webmaster Tools account. Also note that the Yahoo link search is much better as far as what they show.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

There is not a fixed time for G to register your backlinks but generally G has registered backlinks rather quickly from social bookmarking sites like digg etc. Also, G might not be able to get all of your backlinks registered but they do work well for your SERP.

As lntelinside says social bookmarking sites are crawled by google almost constantly. I put up a new site last week and bookmarked it on two social bookmarking sites and it showed up on google within 12 hrs. One of my blog sites gets crawled about once a month so it could take a few weeks yet for you.

You're talking about having your website indexed and found. lazerlyte is talking about people who link back to the site and when it would be considered a backlink by Google in order to receive *points* for it.

A backlink can be indexed in a matter of minutes (hence why your site was found so quickly), but for it to actually count as a backlink and be worth something towards your credibility, it may take several months before Google updates that part of their algorithm.

Google doesn't share all the backlink info it has for a site, for some reason they like to keep a percentage to themselves.

yahoo site explorer gives a much better impression re backlinks. For some reason google likes to keep this information ambiguous and inaccurate.
