Hi,

I am hoping some of you guys can help out please.

A few days ago I lost my ranking dramatically on Google whilst some of my other keywords are still on Page 1. I checked Google webmaster under manual and I have not received any notification from Google.

If I move my site to new domain will i require new content? and will I be able to forward my existing to the new domain? or its best to setup landing page? any tips would be appreciated.

Thank you

Why in the world would you move your site to a new domain?

I had the same thing happen mysteriously. Several of my keywords dropped off the first page to the 3rd+ page.

One in particular I ranked #4 since Aug-2012 without budging, then I suddenly dropped to page 2, page 3, and now page 4 within a week. So after nearly 2 years of not moving at all it just drops out of sight.

      Very frustrating.

Have you looked at the current first page for those terms? Have a look at the new websites ranking instead of yours, compare the websites now ranking to your website and look to see what is different. It's pretty hard to tell you why this has happened to your website without knowing your websites URL/the keywords which have dropped.

If there is no manual action and you've started losing the rankings somewhere around March end then this may be the case - Was There A Google Update Yesterday: March 25, 2014?

He said he lost rankings a few days ago, not months ago.

There have been whispers of another update and obviously there was some update.

What's your link profile look like OP?

Your website is suffering from Google update and if you shift to new domain then all the things must be new and unique either design or content.

      Hi,

Study your backlinks, get the toxic ones and disavow them... then you will just to wait for a few months for this to take effect...

      Luck!

First of all don't panic for your lost rankings . Closely monitor stats for any manual spam and other seo changes recently done. In case all goes normal there must be chance of backlink expiration or Google dance (your ranking will be as normal after a day or two).

If I was you, I wouldn't recommend moving your site to another domain as that will just cause more problems. If you've lost your ranking, you've probably done something really wrong, so you may need to rebuild the ranking.

Why would you ditch your domain and move to a new one again?
