How long can you rank a medium competitive keyword?

I just want to know how long normally need be take for ranking a medium competitive keywords on First page (#1)

I did "housewares" (#5-7) for about 3 months, I am New for Ranking

    for a medium keyword, it may take 4-6 months by a professional strictly depending upon your strategy. I personally prefer long tail with local searches. the best way to rank easily and higher.

      When i do free back links it easy to get #1 on second page, then it stoped

      So i try buy a link, then it go to #5 on first page

      I agreed with you, The easiest way is start from Long tail or Relative low competitive long keywords, But When i focus on "housewares", It really difficult, I did that for a company, But now I quiet, and try to do my own site

    "Housewares" is not so easy to rank for... I am really impressed you did it so quick... But I'm pretty sure your domain name, your title, your H1 tag and a few more were actually very related to the keyword! Then, 3-4 months are necessary in average!

    "housewares" is certainly not a medium difficulty keyword. Its hard.
    Try to target some longtail keywords.

    Well, let me tell you a secret about the ranking and the secrete is there is no one who can tell you the time they are going to take in order to get you ranked on the first page of ...... I would say keep on working with the search engine friendly technique and eventually you are will be going to get yourself ranked among the search engines.

    Yours is a one keyword to rank, and I think it's tough competition. I would suggest you to take a look at perhaps 2-3 syllabus or long tail keywords.
