Hi warriros,

I would like to create an new website related to health. I would like to know, which one is better? Chooisng an EMD or create a brand for my website?
- please provide me with pros and cons for both of the option.

Please give me some guide in term of SEO since I just started in SEO.

Thanks

EMD's don't have the same advantage they used to in terms of seo/rankings so I go for more general or brand domains at the moment.

Having a domain that's is not too specific can also give you a lot more flexibility with your website. Try to choose a domain that is relevant but gives you scope to expand your website and content when you're ready.

When it comes to developing sites you can do it both ways. When using EMDs you're limiting yourself to targeting only a handful of very related keywords (the ranking process will take less since the keywords are less competitive, but on the other hand the potential income level is limited due to the lower search volume).

When developing sites that can be turned into authority sites, you have the options of targeting tens and even hundreds of keywords on the long run, depending on how big the niche is.

So both methods work, but you have to take into consideration the amount of time you're willing to wait until the rankings start rolling in.

    Cheers

It also depends on what exactly you want to create on your website. A brand domain name is always better. But if you will only promote a specific product you can get advantage of EMD.

I would suggest you to go for brand domain name, it would be easy to remember for your visitors and also easy for them to spread it around if you are providing quality and value on your site.
EMD's used to work very well in olden days but it doesn't work any more.

Health is a very broad market and it depends on what you're promoting and how. If you're targeting very specific segment or a particular product, exact match may be a good idea if you can get them. Otherwise a general brand name would be a better choice that allows for more flexibility as the site grows. This is especially true if you're planning to build an authority site.

EMD is very good if you target specific products. Also you can set up Authority to your brand using EMD.
