Buying expired domains - what if the site isn't up anymore?

Hey warriors,

When buying expired domains (for building a PBN), what if the site is no longer up, eg the domain is parked by GoDaddy?

Would you still benefit if you rebuild the site, if it has a strong link profile?

Or would it be like starting over from scratch?

I imagine this to be a slightly controversial topic, so would appreciate input from warriors with experience.

If a domain is parked at Godaddy and becoming available then its going through their auction. Nothing controversial about buying it as hundreds are bought every week that way

Right so if I bought the domain and rebuilt the site, I would still get the value of the pre-existing link profile?

Make sure domain is still indexed and doesn't have a spammy back link profile.

This is the case 99% of the time when buying expired or auctioned domains. You're completely safe and you'll be able to retain all the link juice, as long as the domain isn't penalized. Just make sure to install a redirect plugin like linkjuicekeeper to make sure you'll get credit for all the non-homepage incoming links.

This is really helpful tip. So it will be helpful if you can buy a domain where many internal pages also have page rank. So if the redirects works well then the PR of the home page might increase further. Thanks.
