best keyword research tool?

I know this is a bit of a ridiculous question, but I just recently had someone tell me that Google adwords may not be the best keyword researching tool, so I've been exploring "paid" researching tools, although I have no idea how to decide which one to get.

What about Market Samurai? http://www.marketsamurai.com/

They say the best gift of life is FREE. Only with Google Keyword Planner i would admit that.

MarketSamurai is just a waste of resources.

Paid tools are meant to make task easier and faster.

Who can be more accurate in terms of Google search query than the producers themselves, think about it!

In my opinion the GKT is HORRIBLE!!! You really think that Google will reveal all of the keywords to us MARKETERS? I think not. There is a reason why they updated the tool to start with!

So, what do you use other than the GKT @marc I think you are giving the OP a horrible idea please don't give the idea to the OP which is not trust worthy because your idea is not going to benefit the OP rather than it will lighten up the pocket of the OP. I think you don't know that Google is one which give most of his best tools to the users as well as developers for free. I would say if you don't trust with Google then don't use Google.

Wordtracker is probably your best bet if you're not a fan of Adwords. Apart from that, I can't think of any others.

I've been using Market Samurai for years. Most don't use it to its full capabilities. The SEO competition module is worth the entire price as is the ad creation and product finder module.

I've been using Market Samurai for years. That being said, there's no reason in the world not to use Google's free tools. It doesn't do everything, but it will do most of what you'll need. Save your money until you can justify the expense of a paid tool.

Lastly, be wary of the paid keyword tools that appear out of nowhere. They disappear just as fast. If you decide to pony-up for a paid tool, invest in one that's been around a while. It'll likely be around in a while!

    Good luck!

To the OP don't listen anyone out there other than the one who are suggesting the use of the Google Keyword Planner Tool, use GKP with the Google trends and you are good to go.

My favorite tools are uber suggest and keyword buzz tools. These are entirely free tools and let you have some idea about the important keywords that you may use for your site.

I've experimented with the paid tools (most extensively with iSpionage) and didn't find them that helpful. A lot of the time they're just repackaging Google's numbers from Keyword Planner, and the competitive info can be way off.
