Using Custom Channels on Adsense to make more money off your blog?

Hi Guys,

Long time lurker here, but I needed to finally make an account as I have a question of my own.

I have read about using custom channels to improve the adsense revenue you get from your blogs. I have read a few tutorials around the internet about it but none of them have been very clear or helpful. Is there anyone who has experience setting up custom channels on adsense for blogs who could give a clear explanation on how best to set them up?

I run a soccer blog on blogger and I get around 200 hits a day, but only make around $0.05 cent each month from it, and I get an average of 5 ad clicks a day. Should I be earning a small bit more and is it because I am not using custom channels properly?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I run AdSense on one of my larger websites (over 50,000 pages), it earns me a pretty decent income and I don't use channels. In fact I need to take a second look into my account after this to be sure I understand what they are, maybe I should be earning a lot more and don't even know it. lol

It seems that you claim to be getting about 150 clicks per month but only earning 5 cents per month. I'm not sure what your problem is but something is defiantly wrong with that picture.

    Where's your traffic coming from?

5 cents from 150 clicks a month does not make sense.

How much money you make has nothing to do with custom channels.

Google figures out which ads to show for every single page indendently from your custom channels.

The income you make from Adsense depends mainly on your content, the ad placement, the design and most importantly on the quality of your traffic.

That's ridiculous? Are you sure you have everything setup correctly?

  • Thanks for the replies guys. My traffic mostly comes from Google plus, from soccer community pages. Every thing else about my story checks out.

I just always assumed that it is very difficult to make any kind of money with adsense using blogs. I've only been trying this method for a few months, my other past experience with adsense it earning with Youtube, which is a lot easier for me to do.

There's something wrong with the metrics you're reporting. 150 clicks per month earns you $0.05? Really? Doesn't make any sense...
