Hello everybody,

I'd like to share a feeling I have and see if you is the same.

The big problem I have when I test changes on my sites regarding SEO, backlinks, ads position and so on, is that I don't know when they will have effect on rankings...

I know it takes some time before google updates the ranking, but I have always a doubt on the outcomes: are they due to a changes I made 1 month ago, or are related to something else?

The big difficulty is that I can't see clearly the effect of my changes...how do you manage this thing?

thank you in advance

There are a lot of people who are in the same situation as you are.

I tell these people the same thing:

You can not wait for the search engines to index your website or get it on page 1.

People go MONTHS and sometimes YEARS trying to figure this out till they decide to quit.

If you want instant results (making sales to what ever you are promoting), you need to invest some money in ads.

I feared this kind on answer... :-) I hope to be able to get a good traffic in a good way, but I'm aware that soon or later I'll have to pay in order to have a secure and not random way to get traffic. Google changes things everytime, so it's not a reliable source of traffic, and the risk is to waste time trying to stay at its pace. On the other hand, I think that before to pay I need to have something to sell (my product or affiliates), and a sales page....so for the moment I'll focus on the product, hoping to get some free traffic meanwhile... thank you

    Hi,

Well learn from experience. I've read over alot of blogs and can honestly say that I've just followed the top bloggers who have proven results. I have a hand full of bloggers that have case studies on SEO showing exactly what they did to rank. Even though you will still have to wait to see the results but you'll at least know what works and what doesn't this way.

Building a website is all about learning from experience and this does include experience of those that are top bloggers in the industry. This is best approach if you have no money to invest like I did.

However, if you are selling a product then build a sales funnel and drive traffic to it collecting email subscribers. These people are on your list and you can promote things in a non-pushy manner to them.
