If you're looking for "GOOD keywords" (and i mean *GOOD*!) then you might want to search your CPA/affiliate offers and search for offers where there are coupons, coupon codes and discounts tied to the product.

The keyword(s)
productname discount
or
productname discount code
are extremely good, for the following reasons:

If someone is looking for a discount code for a specific product he already made the decision to buy the product. It is VERY likely that this person will purchase and he is only looking for that last discount to get the product a little cheaper.

So..make a site and give him what he wants.

Check your offers and select the ones where you can get coupon/discount codes. Slap the code on your site - and don't forget your affiliate link where he can buy the product right away - on YOUR site.
I also see that those keywords usually have very nice search volume and are reasonable low priced. Prepare for high CTR and conversions

Add: Feel free to email your merchants also, maybe you can cut a deal and you get a personal discount code for this or that product. Do a little keyword research and you will see what discounts people are looking for.

  • Good tip...and if you really want to do well with this technique, register a domain with the product name + discount code. Like this:

    www.ProductNameDiscountCode.com

      Dude...that totally rocks!

I was using the same concept with catalogs...but didn't think about discount or coupons.

    *brand* Discount Code
    *brand* Discount Coupon
    *brand* Discount Voucher

Will have to look through the keywords for all of these. Do the searches tend to target the brand names? I would have thought they would have thrown in something more generic.

    Definitely worth some testing. Cheers.

Man! I wish I had thought of this. I have gotten some great domain names based upon adding certain terms to the keyword phrase but I TOTALLY missed this. Thanks!

Oh yeah, you can't leave out the coupons and discount stuff. My wife is one of those folks that ALWAYS do a search for a coupon/discount first before buying. And she buys a lot!

      George

Great tip. This is something you mentioned in one of your WSO.

I have used this but with little twist. On my LP I have button that says "redeem your x% code now" without giving discount code number so that the user cann't just copy the code and you loose sale.

Great for content placement with Google on forums.

blackjack, what exactly did you do? You send the code my email?
Or you made a second page on the site with the code, but the user still has to click to get to the second page?
