something wrong with google keyword planner?

I am new to this, but when I am searching keywords, a lot of them appear very low in search volume per month. I have even taken exact keywords that people have posted up showing 4-6000 exact searches a month to test it and it will tell me that there is only something like 100 searches. Not sure what I am doing wrong as I have all the settings the same as some of those i tested out

Are you referring to people posting examples of keywords showing 4000-6000 searches per month on keyword planner?

Do you have any local search options accidentally turned on?

Yes that is what I am referring to and i just double checked an no local search options other than targeting the US

i think you need google keyword tool for the keyword you would like to use.i hope it may help you.
