High PR, no-follow Backlinks = Good or Garbage?

Wassssssuppp all you money lovin' Peeps!

Title says it all - I found a blog where each individual page has high PR (from PR3-PR7), low OBLs (like less than 50) and I can post an anchor text blog comment. However, it's all no-follow.

Goal = Short Term, Quick Rank:: I'm trying to rank a churn and burn site, so I'm not worried about gaining traffic from the blog, just looking for some link-juice for my money site.

If the PR is high, but a no-follow, does that mean it won't pass on any juice at all, or does it mean it will but it's just diluted?

Ultimately I'm trying to decide if it's worth it or not to do 50-100 manual comments or if I should just go with an automated approach and blast a few 100k garbage links.

What say ye SEO gurus???

Aside from making your backlink profile appear natural what is the point of no-follow links? Traffic maybe?

If it's not a traffic link forget it, nofollow blog comment isn't doing anything.

I disagree entirely. A high PR no-follow link can pass on its authority to your site and aid in your ranking.

Then what is the point of using the NO FOLLOW tag? Doesn't this go against everything that it stands for? That would mean that it does exactly the opposite.

It's a good idea to mix your backlink profile with both no follow and follow backlinks. With that being said high pr no follow backlinks will help make your backlink profile appear more natural and thus help you with you rankings.

It surly wouldn't hurt you so why not test the waters and see what happens. Maybe you can do a case study and put an end to all the mixed feelings about the topic.
