Does Changing the Resource Box of Articles REALLY Affect Their Search Engine Rankings?

Hi guys,

I would like to change the resource box of some of my old articles at Ezinearticles, but I've heard that this could affect the present position of your articles in the search engines.

Could anyone verify if this is true? If that's the case, then I should not change the resource box of those ranking highly.

Thanks a lot,
Michael

Yes it could affect your rankings but depends on what you change and how many you change. If you change the anchor text wording and/or url, your site's ranking could be affected but it also depends on how many other relevant back links you have pointing to your site. If these articles are your only source of backlinks then I would say 100% that your site's ranking will be affected.

Thanks, Brian. Sorry if I was confusing. I was asking if the ezinearticles page where my article is posted will change in ranking, not the sites that the backlinks in the resource box are pointing to.

    Thanks,
    Michael

I changed the resource box there on one of my articles last week. It was in the #6 spot for the term. It was reviewed and went live again 24 hrs later.

6 days later the site is on the 2nd page in the 15 spot. Seems like there is a big dip when you republish. I didn't check, but maybe the URL is different? I dunno if the article # remained the same or not.
