Has anyone recovered from Hummingbird?

I had a top ranking site for my business and back in november 2013 It got tanked by the hummingbird update. I was heavy with anchor text for the keywords and vanished from the serps. I cleaned everything up and got the anchor text to about 4 to 6 percent for the keyword anchor text. Well 6 months later nothing, nowhere to be found in the serps except for inner pages. I have added new content and still nothing. Has any body here recovered from this over optimizing penalty? Will it ever happen or is the site a lost cause.

There is nothing to be recovered from. Hummingbird just pushed up unrelated pages from authority websites in front of related pages (focused on the keyword) from websites with little authority. The only way to fight this is to gain some authority.

That sounds like Penguin, not Hummingbird.

So you tried to clean up your links and disavowed the links you couldn't remove?

Do you have any good links left?
