Hey guys,

Hope everyone is having a great day...

Say the only keyword i'm targeting is "PPC Blueprint Review". I tried to get the exact keyword as a domain name but couldn't so I got "PPCBlueprintReviewed.com".

As you'll notice it says reviewed, even though my keyword is 'review'.

I saw that I'm way down on the 6th page, is this because my domain name is different than the keyword?

My site is all optimized for 'PPC Blueprint review" I just have the domain "PPCBlueprintReviewed.com"

Thanks so much!

Zach

P.S- I just made up the PPC Blueprint thing, I don't think that's even a product...yet.

I doubt if that is the only reason you are having your website on google's 6th page. Domain really matters for keyword but its not like everything obviously as most of the precious domains are already taken.
For example if you search "seotips" you will find the domain name "seotips.org" in the 3rd number and other searches at 1st and 2nd without having this main keyword in their domains so you can still get the top result for any keyword without having it in the domain
    Thanks

If getting ranked was as simple as registering a domain name with the right keywords what do you think happens when 100 people have similar keywords in their domain? Right, someone has to be on page 6!

What I am saying is; there is more to it than that. Yes, having keywords in your domain helps but the following are useful too:

    1. Agerank. The older the domain the better.
    2. Unique content. Make sure you have something good to say, and you said it.
    3. Fresh content. Update often, have something good to say every day!
    4. Links. Good quality similar sites linking to you go a long way, also non relevant sites too. Get a few hundred links spread out over a period of time will do you the world of good.
    6. Onsite SEO - ensure your site has the keywords in the title, H1 and body.

That is just part of what you need to do, but will go a long way to helping :-)
