The Risk Of Not Checking Your Stats Daily!

This post is not going to be about how important it is to check your stats, but more so of the importance of checking them for a reason if you do Adsense marketing.

I had a rude awakening yesterday when - luckily for me - I went to check my stats program to see what the previous day had brought me in Adsense goodies. You can imagine how shocked I was when I found one user from one particular IP had been click bombing my site eight times over the course of 8 hours.

I suppose I saw this abuse of my account just in time before getting banned by Google -even though I wasn't guilty of anything - but I have heard plenty of horror stories in my time online so I'm glad to have checked.

Now, I'm guilty enough for not checking those stats every day and if I've learned one thing from that experience, it would be not to get too complacent with your account and leave it unchecked for days on end!

Here is what I did as soon as I found the offense:

1.) I took off all Adsense ads from that particular site and added Clickbank affiliate products instead.

2.) I then contacted Google through their help form from within my account.

3.) Then I waited with baited breath to see whether my account was still good to go in their eyes. To my sheer relief I saw the earnings climb up again over the last 12 hours, which indicates that I'm still good with G.

Thankfully!

Monika

Well you technically aren't still good with google until the end of the earning period. Would be interested in hearing what happened or if everything is still good.

I read the title and felt like posting what I posted.
If you want to get so technical, your post was also nothing about the thread...bud

My theory on Adsense click bombing is, I'm 99.9% sure Adsense/Google tracks IPs per Adsense click. If you stay logged into your Adsense account, Google knows your IP isn't click bombing the Ads & will adjust the earnings as needed, to protect the Adwords guys.

In other words, I don't worry about it much.

Now If your getting click bombed 7 days a week, that's an issue that needs to be dealt with. I haven't had that problem in 5 years of running Adsense on multiple domains.

  • Jeez.

Google isn't stupid they can see the IP's.

This happens all the time. You won't get your account banned because someone else is running up clicks unless you are new and they suspect you. If you have Adsense on a lot of sites and are not clicking your own links then you have nothing to worry about.

    You clearly over reacted.

What are you going to do next time it happens take down all your ads.

Yeah Google probably checks the IP addresses that clicks on the ads. I've seen on my adsense account days where I would have 3 clicks but 0 earnings. They must of been from the same computer hitting the back button or something.

Not checking stats daily is like your no goal on where to go. Have your stats as your inspiration to move forward and to add determination in building/promoting your site.

I so agree on this. I am checking my stats regularly to track my site's performance and seeing your site is performing very well pays every effort you give

Because in most cases (in my case two) you receive an email from google adsense team where they state that you violated their agreement and for that your service is disabled and you should not reply.
