Hello,

I created a blog, I posted 22 posts on it. Most of them have a backlink to my main page.

I'm currently in the 16th position in Google UK for my keyword, what would be he most SEO effective thing to do next?

Best regards,

Thats a great step. So let me say congrats as most people never even get to this stage.

The next thing you want to do is to send backlinks till it moves to page 1 and since you are already in page, a few pr links will take you to page 1 within days.

So i advice you check out some WSO that offers high pr links service and buy one of them and you should see some great results.

    Enjoy

Get or build some in context links with some authority (link juice). If content alone got you to page two It should only take a few to get you on page one

You've got 22 posts...that's great! But in the grand scheme of things it's just a drop in the bucket. You should continue on creating "quality" content and adding it to the site. Make sure you are interlinking between your posts so that everything is connected.

If you are truly building something of quality then over time others will start naturally linking your your content. If you'd like to speed that up a bit you could start guest posting on other similar blogs as well.

    Good luck...and be patient :-)

If I were you I would focus purely on either buying or building backlinks to the site to hopefully increase its ranking. Since you have so much content on it, once you start getting backlinks your website will start to rank for a wide array of keywords. I also agree with what Mike said, you need to continue to create quality content and keep adding it to the site.

Congrats on getting this far, you are almost at the finish line.

  • Carry on creating content for your site, start participating in social networks and start seeing how you can create some link bait material in your niche.

For instance if you were a blog about web design I would start planning on creating a high quality free wordpress theme to give away.

Yeah I would say it's time you start your link building process. Do you have a link building strategy? If not, now would be the time to create one. It's important to remember to diversify your anchor text profile.

Get some links that are also going to get some real targeted traffic to your site...

    You could:
    participate in forums
make a video for your niche a put it on youtube, vimeo, etc
create social profiles and post to your social networks, i.e. facebook, instagram, tumblr,G+, etc
submit a press release for your site

Work on creating quality links to your site, Consistently, and your ranks and traffic should improve!

Get the word out there about your site where people are going to see it.

get a few contextual PR links.

for a quick boost, you can buy/rent PR links (google for them or join FB groups. Avoid DigitalForum at all costs) or learn to build PBN yourself.
