redirection plugin help

Hi everybody there.I installed and activated the word press redirection plug to correct some 404 errors on my blog.I redirected the error pages to other new pages but not functioning when the error pages were clicked on.It wasnt directed to the new pages but still showing the error pages.Can anyone out there tell me how to correct this problem in the plugin?Thanks in advance for the help.

    Exactly which plugin did you install?

    Did you check the plugin's support thread for others with the same problem?

    I used wordpress redirection plugin by john Godley.I did followed steps of other people having the same problem but still did not function.

      Hey Mate.
      Somewhere is a mistake. I use same plugin and works fine for me. If you have any cache plugin, clear cache.

    So drop the plugin and just edit the .htaccess file instead.

    If your running Cpanel on your paid host you can copy/paste the two URLs & Cpanel will create/edit the htaccess file for you.

    You may have a plugin conflict, try disabling all the other plugins and see if that makes any difference.

    Hi friends,i decided to try mikes advice as related to my problem.Through ftp i added the following to my webhost above the wordpress jargon;
    Redirect 301/use-of-birth-control-pills-for-the-treatment-of-acne.html http://www.thehomeremediesforglowing...s-or-less.html
    but my site was detorted.The notepad that i uploaded was not able to name the file type as HTACCESS file as the original but as text document.The original file looks like this;
