Google doesn't show Meta Description !

I recently submitted my website to Google using WMT.
Now after around 1 week passed, when I search for "mydomain.com" it shows that the domain is listed with all its page, but the meta description in the homepage is WRONG.
It actually shows some text from present inside the page.
I set up the meta tags correctly, so what's the problem then?

    Sometimes Google pulls content from your page because it thinks it's more relevant (for that particular search query) than what you've wrote in your meta description.

    Here's what they say in their guidelines:
    Google will sometimes use the meta description of a page in search results snippets, if we think it gives users a more accurate description than would be possible purely from the on-page content.

    So, Google uses your meta description if it thinks it's the most accurate description of your page. If not, it will pull something from your content.

    It basically depends on the search query. When I search for mydomain.com, the meta is good; if I search for mydomain, it's different.

    They do this with titles as well:
    However, sometimes even pages with well-formulated, concise, descriptive titles will end up with different titles in our search results to better indicate their relevance to the query.

    Bottom line, don't worry, it won't affect your rankings. The only bad thing is that sometimes the content that it pulls is damn ugly.
