Do backlinks to a specific URL also up other pages with the same keyword on that domain?

Hi, I have been backlinking for a while now, and have been mainly doing my youtube videos as they seem to get up there pretty quick, and I know I usually click on the video in the search results.

When I started I was on page 5, 3 spots ahead of me was a youtube "channel", his account name was my keyword, I didnt think anything of it.

But when my video started going up in the ranking, up to page 4 then 3 then 2, he was still always ahead of me!!!

So I am wondering, and correct me if I am wrong, but does backlinking to a specific URL also give ranking power to the domain, and in turn up the rankings or any other pages with that keyword?

The only reason I ask is because I was thinking that, maybe I should optimize ALL my videos for my main keyword phrase, I have one that I try to get up in the rankings, and then the rest are designed for "clickabilty", meaning I try to word them so the people will click on them, and pay less attention to the keywords.

Thanks for the help, again I may be way off!
Ashley

Yes. Links to your inner pages with your keywords in them will strengthen the "theme" of your site with Google. This will strengthen your home page for that term. With that said I wouldn't recommend using the exact same keyword to all the other pages on your site. Instead, try to add a few words to your main keyword for the inner pages. Mix it up a lot and the variety of links with your keyword in it will help boost your site in the serps for the main keyword.
