When people quote majestic seo stats on trust flow (TF) and citation flow (CF) when considering a back link from that site, which should you concentrate on:

The figures for the

root domain

or

Subdomain

or

url ?

I personally concentrate on the root domain. Then I research all of the important factors like TF CF, PA, DA, PR, anchor text, backlinks, ect. I use several free tools to check a domain.

Some say I do too much research, but if you get into the arena of purchasing domains, you can spend alot of money FAST, so you better make sure you are spending money on quality domains

If you're looking for high TF and CF you should be really looking at every page url that was ever found by Majestic. Selecting the ones you like and then recreating that exact url.

To be quite honest the metrics across the board are really spotty now. All of them. I just picked up one of the strongest domains I have bought in the last year (Muliple PR7 links) and NONE of the metrics - Not PR , NOT DA, NOT TF show what that domain should be.

I'm just saying not complaining. After all I picked it up for $9 and yeah

      its indexed

Anyone that thinks the dropped domain technique is dead is out of their minds

No one is giving any information that really works for free or cheap. People did that with godaddy auctions and the prices just went through the roof.

100% agree. To be honest I rarely if I ever look at any of those metrics. I think people are just desperate for something to grasp on to as PR is becoming less and less relevant.

I only look at the backlinks/anchors in the 3 major backlink tools, archive.org, and domaintools drop history to make my buying decisions.

You have to take into account all those three but go for the root domain as first priority.

If you trying to determine the quality of the back-link from that site I would look at the figures for the root domain.

I usually use root to keep the scores somewhat comparable between sites. However, I often check the other options to see if the numbers are way different for some reason. Majestic can be spotty as Mike A. said so take the metrics with a grain of salt.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
