Doing keyword research for clients 1 by 1 is pretty time-consuming.

Any SEOs out there who are doing keyword research automatically for clients and compiling them into a pre-sales report / proposal for clients?

    Usually we make a keyword research automatically report for client, then we give them for approvement. We will discuss with client which keywords are best for SEO.

      In my opinion keyword research is next to useless without competition research for those keywords. Competition research when done right is too time intensive to be done for a proposal.

      Not unless the client is serious, has more or less settled on you and pays well

    this is not done automatically . you must do manually. because its main task of seo.
    after that there is all strategy will start. even you dont have kw then how would do seo for that site. pretty interesting you are. if you do good kw research then no need to worry about your backlink. so i must say that just as good as possible.

    I first find out what keywords my clients want to rank for...then I check the competition on those keywords....if they are very competitive, I still go for them because I know that I can rank for them, but clients always want quicker results, so I will do keyword research, and find a few great keywords that I can rank for quickly. Then, everyone wins

    You should not do the keyword research in advance.
    One reason: how sure are you that those profitable keywords you gathered 1 month ago are the still profitable today?

    Keyword research is really time-consuming.
    Clients know that, but, sadly, most of them want to pay peanuts.

    And don't get me started with the Not Provided.keywords. It just made kw research that much difficult. I have been in an outsourced team and we really had a hard time finding out which of our keywords are working and guesstimating on the not provided keywords.

    Anyone here who knows how to make up for the missing stats? I've long given up on this ordeal.

    But, for big and really good clients, we do this work only manually, cause it's very important and efficiently for a site future.
