Testing Ping Servers?

I am trying to compile a list of working ping servers and I'm not sure exactly how to do it. The only thing I did was load a list of URL's into ScrapeBox and check to see if they are indexed.
The following one comes up as non-indexed, but I think its a good ping URL address:
http://rpc.pingomatic.com/
Not sure if all I do is check for indexation. Any ideas?
