Hi all,

Im a fairly new webmaster (7 months) and i spend an hr or 2 each day on my site, but my question is, how do i know im doing the right activities?

Im trying to build content and drive traffic, but with no previous experience its like driving blind.

I try and post relevant information, use social networking, add new content daily etc etc yet my traffic stats are still very low, so how do i know if i should continue with these or try something different?

Do you have Google Analytics? You can monitor your traffic using this and it's free.

Also, check out Yahoo Answers. There is tons of people asking rated questions all the time. You can answer them and post a link to your site in the source link box.

Yeh i have analystics, hence how i know my traffic is extremely poor, so its just a matter of trying a lot of different things and seeing if that improves the traffic?

Are you tracking where your traffic is coming from? I've always heard that you should advertise everywhere and monitor where your traffic is coming from. Once you know where the most traffic is driven from, then you are supposed to advertise in more or the similar places. Coming from a newbie but that's what I've been told.
