Directory Site Question

I'm setting up a therapist directory and noticed that the leading directory site in America comes up on page 1 of Google when you search for therapist by city e.g. therapist New York and gives you a list of therapists in New York when you click on the page entry. You then land on this page:

http://therapists.psychologytoday.co...herapists.html


Given that the domain name of the site is psychologytoday.com does anyone know how they manage to create this url which obviously helps to get them on page 1 of Google.

    I don't understand exactly what you're asking, but in any case I think you're assuming too much with your words "obviously" and "helps".

    First, it isn't necessarily so "obvious" at all (there could be - and probably are - all sorts of other reasons why they rank so well);

    Secondly, even if you're right, the key word there should be "helped", rather than "helps", because so many of these things have changed recently, and especially the weightings of url's for SEO (so it's an area in which trying to reproduce what someone else achieved in the past and has maybe built on and reinforced may be a waste of time);
