I bought a domain from godaddy auction with PR6. I uploaded my new theme to it. Did not upload too much content.PR remain same for 20-25 days. After 20-25 days PR dropped to 0.Is it usual things? Or is there any way to remain PR for long time?

Am I created any mistake to buy domain? Or it is usual case that PR will dropped after few days. As I am new in this area I am asking warrior to share knowledge? I will be grateful if anybody gives me ideas about best practice of buying PR of auctioned domain.

Did you bother researching the backlinks of the domain? My guess is you bought a dud, as most people do when they first start playing around with domain buying.

Might have had a 301 redirect pointing at it to inflate the PR, sell it, and then the owner removed the 301 redirect.

Seems he bought a fake PR domain.

If the page had a real PR6, you would of had to pay quite a bit of money for it.

    Call it a lesson learnt.

It's called Fake PageRank. People will 301 redirect a real PR6 domain to a domain with almost no links to make it look like a PR6. The PageRank transfers until the 301 redirect is removed. Then it goes back to zero. I did not know Google updated it that often, I would have figured it only does it with PageRank updates, but yeah. You got screwed basically. Hope you didn't spend too much.

It shouldn't drop to PR0 as there are no minor PR updates anymore, very strange.
Anyway, a real PR6 domain should have good PR6,7+ backlinks.

There is no "fake page rank checker" that works. You have to inspect the backlinks. That is the only way to be sure.

Also, a PR 6 will never sell for $43. At GoDaddy, you will probably never see a legit PR 6 sell for less than $1200.

    Keep in mind also...

The PageRank isn't that accurate at all. It doesn't get updated often by Google + there are tons of spammed and bullshit PR domains available. I have tons of PAN/A domains that are stronger.

Focus on the DA, PA, TF, CF, Backlinks, Anchor Text Ratio, History. Look at the domain as a whole and not just the PR.

This is why you should just stick to services rather than having the risk and wasting your money, just my opinion though.
