Hi Warriors,

I have a news website (2years old), BUT in the last 4 months, i didn't write any articles/news. Also, currently i stopped running my website and i will re-open it again in the next few days. My question is, After re-opening my website and start writing articles/news again, My website won't ranking anymore in google? Or that's will NOT hurt my website?

****My website was in a good rank in google BEFORE i stopped writing articles.

Regards,
Oliver.

Google loves fresh content and when you start publishing news and articles again, your site will start ranking better in Google assuming that no penalty is imposed on it. However, don't expect better rankings until after the first few weeks or months, though it can happen sooner.

I recommend you also 'ping' your new content to google by publishing a link to your new content from eg twitter, pinterest, google plus, blogger.com etc

It's not the best way to rank and show your site is well maintained to Google's eyes.

It doesn't necesserely mean you won't be able to rank but Google checks if news sites are regularly updated and that's important when they give a value to your site.

Everybody knows Google is hunger for content, so writing more article/news on your website should be very useful for ranking high on SERP's. Best of luck for my side.

Yes see that you update your website with rich and interesting content on a regular basis. If you have stopped working on your site, it may not loose the ranking, but you could easily go down in the SERP's because, new sites with fresh content would be give priority by the search engines. However, if you work consistently, you could bring back your site to top position, with time.

    Thanks,

After the Google’s recent Panda update, it is quite clear that the game of SEO surrounds now just around content only. The more fresh and unique content you will post to your website the more it will be benefited in terms of rankings. So, don’t stop posting fresh content you will definitely be benefited in long term.
