Hi

Im really new to SEO, 2 weeks to be precise. I was wondering if anybody could be kind enough to advise me on how many backlinks to build per keyword so that i dont get penalised for going to fast by google and once i have posted the backlinks when should i ping them. Straight away or should i wait for a few days or so. Sorry if its a silly question but i really am new to this SEO game and i want to get it right from the begining

Lisa

I would peek at the number of links the competiton builds. Otherwise you might end up penalized for building too many links in a time frame that is way to short for your niche.

There are niches that keep building just a handful of links a week and increase their rankings.

You might want to search for "link building velocity" to get more details.

Most of these links are all just junk. I would skip this.

The real answer is if you are building good links, you should build as many as you possibly can.

It's not. It's important, but still not as important as links.

Noooooooo!!!! 5k links in a few days, you can't be serious, are you? If this is a joke than I missed it.

Your link profile needs to appear natural, or Google will notice and penalize you. The best way for your link profile to appear natural is to gain links at a natural pace. Now to be fair, there isn't necessarily a specific number, or range, that has been set for what does or doesn't look natural, but I can guarantee you that Big G will hurt you for 5k links in a few days.

On top of that, how do you propose getting those 5 thousand links in just a few days? Seems to me the only way to accomplish that would be black hat, or grey hat at best, tactics, again all of which Google sniffs out and slaps the hell out of.

To sum up, there is no set number or range, but it MUST appear natural. So, if I had to guess (and that's all this is, is a guess) keep your linking per day low.

My main source of links comes from content marketing and outreach. So, some days I may get 10 - 20 while other days I get 1 or 2.

saifulislam has given you the perfect numbers. I think thats the best way to start working on backlinks. Go slow and steady, that's good for your website.

Not surprising so many don't rank pages, they're going after nofollow links on purpose.

Good to see the numbers described by experts, let me add one thing and it is creating too many backlinks in short period of time may penalize your site, so kindly concentrate on quality rather then on quantity.

Thats a low competitive keyword. Make 30-50 quality backlinks per day and don't over ping.

According to my experience create 15 to 20 back links per day no quality sites. DO Social book marking, forum, blog for your site.

You dont go for so many backlinks in the first few days pls. Just see that you try to create backlinks on a consistent basis. For instance, if you create ten backlinks per keyword in a day see that you create similar number the next day too. This makes google think that backlinks are natural. Dont overdo the backlinking strategy or else you will be penalized.

Actually you think it naturally, just think that if your visit 100 sites for any subject which you are looking for, so how many times you share link normally? 20%, 10% ? I think maximum 10%, so backlink is natural thing so think it on natural way. If the daily visitor of your site's is 100 then you can do 10% i mean 10 back links per day. If the visitor is 500 per day then you should do maximum 50 backlinks per day. I think if you follow this technique then Google never punish you. But one thing, always build up quality backlinks also. Best of luck.

Try to go viral on social media, once you get a big name try to reach out to other web owners to build links.

If you want to go slightly more blackhat I would use guest blogging.

If you want to go more blackhat I'd contact someone who has a PBN, I don't know too much there but there are a few guys on this forum that can help you with that.

When you talk about building backlinks for a particular website against particular keywords, you should keep in mind one thing that never use any unethical way of building backlinks because it can ruin your whole campaign. Therefore you should always use ethical ways and go slow in building backlinks.

you can create unlimited backlinks, if you are doing right seo. But if you are doing spamming like posting sames content to other spammed website, then it will create problem.

Go for quality over quantity. I'd much rather have one link per week from a relevant PR3 page, than 1000 links per day from pages without any PR

I think more than the quantity, quality matters! Try getting backlinks from relevant sites. Also, I think it's better to build a mix of dofollow and nofollow links so that it looks natural to google. Think its best to build 3-5 links per day. Also, try not to do too much of blog commenting. Instead, try guest posts!

This depends on your targeted keyword. Non English keywords usually need lesser backlinks than English keywords, for grabbing the first page at Google.

It doesn't matter how many you build.

If the links are natural, can you control them ? NO. If your content goes viral you will get tons of links in a short period of time.

The thing that differentiates spam versus links generated through viral content is the former are just low quality crappy links while the latter also generates good quality links in the mix.

So if you can grab a good link then why the hell not. Blog commenting and directory submissions and a whole bunch of what the second poster posted aren't high quality, heck some of them aren't even do-follow. Don't waste your time on that

The best SEO now is to build web 2.0s on Wordpress, Tumblr and Blogger with unique content & 1 link to your money site, then to blast these web 2.0s with tons of links. You can use GSA SER as software. You will get quality links and your site will get authority.

There are so many ways for you to get backlinks, and it really does not matter how many as long they are in high quality. Of course, I know that quality is always better than quantity. If you've got too many low quality backlinks, for sure your website may not be exposed too much in the SERPs for a long while. But if you've got a few high quality backlinks, for sure you may get noticed.

But the most critical part in doing backlinks is your keyword research. Try to evaluate and analyze the competition of your keywords first before creating a high quality content. Make sure that it has low to moderate competition level, lots of monthly and local searches, etc. Some of the high quality backlinks that you should be doing for your website are social signals, wiki sites, Web 2.0 sites, video marketing, high quality related websites and blogs, and press releases.

Speaking of press releases, they are a good way to get backlinks even if your website is still new. I just tried it when I was still working with my CPA/PPD experiments, and guess what, I got visits everyday and I noticed that my press release was ranked #3 in the SERPs during that time, and eventually got leads as well. I also promote my press releases through social signals and videos as well.

This is all I have to suggest, I hope this may help you a little bit. Cheers and good luck!
