It helps. It is a well-known strategy and it is called reverse engineering your competitors' backlinks. Of course it will increase your rankings but you have to be patient especially if your site is new.

Yes, this is my new blog and it's an affiliate marketing blog, I just promote affiliate product from Amazon through the blog. Would you please suggest me any others techniques that works better for affiliate site?

No doubt if you can follow the link building path of your competitor you would soon be close to where their site is.

Time frame is based on if you are doing it correctly, how fast you complete the process and getting links from exactly those source of better ones.

Normally, index period takes few days to weeks.

I usually earmark about 14 to 30 days to see result of my link building effort after building the links.

It is definitely a good strategy but the problem is many times you will find places you can not get links from. Most of the really powerful links (contextual from high pagerank/trust/authority) pages you will not be able to duplicate.

Hi,

This is very good strategy. Almost everyone follow these strategy to generate the good back link for his website. Normally, index period takes few days to weeks. Just You have to be patient when your page will be index automatically your rank also improve.

Its very good technique to follow the backlink strategies of Competitors. but make sure that those sites are quality worth to link back. For the keyword to rank, you have to wait patiently.
