I know this is a noob question, but what is the quickest and best way to increase your page rank, is it just tedious work of building backlinks, or are there any quicker ways, and any good tools available (i am willing to spend some money if theres tools that will help me save time) ive used SEO nuke for some articles, and a few social bookmarking sites but im still at PR0, any ideas?
#best or quickest #increase

Well do social bookmarking regularly and the best way is to do blog commenting on high PR sites. Also target your keywords and do link building. Target some organic traffic from google daily and track it via analytics. Try to get 200+ unique visitors in the start and you will surley notice an icrease of PR on next update. I myself tried it and just got PR 0 to 3 in 1 month only.
    Thanks

I started out as a PR0 blog but I had more than 50 related posts that had less than 100 words to begin with. I did article marketing and blasted my articles to lots of article directories with backlinks to my main page. To my surprise, it went up within a month from PR0 to PR3. It is definitely possible for you too if your PR sucks and you are not ranked well.

Getting niche related links from quality sources are the best way to increase PR, not only that, If you can have outbound links for hight QUALITY links, that too will increase your PR.

Yes i agree to Amenda that now a days people buy 5 PR 5+ backlinks and get PR 5 themself easily so its just link juicing. Try to buy some high PR backlinks and specially the sites that don't have much outbound links so that you get enough benefits from the backlinks and try to target websites having organic traffic so it can give you organic traffic as well.
      Thanks

If you can buy link from higher PR sites then create good content, build links from related sites and do good internal linking structure.

You have to get quality of back links to increase PR. In order to do that you have to participate in all of the strategies to get tons of back links. Quality deals with relevancy, so submit your site with the same niche because google gives more weight on quality of back links.

Getting Quality PR links from related niche sources will help to increase PR.
As far as I know, even one PR7 link is enough to get PR4 to your site

If all you get is a PR 4 out of a PR7 that is not an authority site, and you should look elsewhere.

So you concur that If I get 1 PR7 sites backlink - my sites PR should increase to a PR4?

I love this - this is great stuff!

Page PR is vitally important ... if all you want to do is sell backlinks on those "pages" to other suck..... errrrr .... people who chase PR based links ....for a monthly fee. Otherwise an exercise in futility.

Build links and content PR will follow. Writing articles and blog posts about your $$$ site will accomplish both ...

While you are fighting tooth and nail for raising your PR, understand that PR is all it is. Just because you have high PR doesn't mean you will be #1 on google. I have a website right now that is #3 for a term searched 25,000 per month with 1.5 MILLION competing websites. Do you want to know the funny thing? It is a PR 1 website. It sits right above a PR 7 .gov website.

If you want to get to the top of google, you need to show relevancy and popularity. In my mind, PR is over-rated.

Yep Jon Steel got that right... I have many articles in my directory that outrank EZA easily and EZA is like a PR 6 while my site is a PR1. PR means very little and instead of wasting time with trying to raise your PR just go out there and take action and get those backlinks from many different sources..

PR is falling in importance with Google. Personally I wouldn't worry about it so much. If you look in the SERPs these days, PR is not an indication of ranking well. It cetainly gives you an indication of how authoratative Google percieves your site to be, but it doesn't guarantee good positions.

Higher PR links to increase the PR, But like some have already stated, people tend to focus too much on PR. A low PR site can outrank a high PR site, just keep that in mind.

PageRank alone doesn't mean anything, it's very easy to get PR4 site that has 10 visitors a day, if that. Like the post Ed linked above, it's about everything else. It's hard to "let go" of the "raw" PR, as it is clearly visible, measurable number that you can go after...

Try to get quality backlinks from similar high PR sites. the links from Authority sites like .gov sites will help a lot.

you don't increase PR. As it is nothing than Google tells how "importance" is your web page. Google ranks web pages based on keywords not PR. I have a hosting site in PR 4 but only receiving 10-20 visits per day. obviously I was targeting a wrong keyword. So You want PR or traffic or more importantly sales???

It is better to use all techniques simultaneously. There is no single technique which will give you high PR to your site. Also have back links with web sites related to your particular niche. Social book marking will help you in a quicker way to achieve your goal, but you need to go in a systematic way.

You cannot reach high PR if you get some of the backlinks from article directories or social networking sites.

Start building links for your website on regular basis and make sure that you do it regularly if you need to see some results. Also you need to know that PR is updated every 3 months. So work and look for PR after 3 months from now.

Best way to increase PR is writing original content..
My new website which is 1 month old is PR 3 without any link exchanges, web 2.0, spamming etc..

    Dear Hypebest
PR is always a dashing matter for web portals or site whatever you say.
For increasing some will say for good content or social bookmarking process but It's my opinion that you should be update content regularly and make this link submitted to different related directory as well as to book marking site. So main thing you should update al most regularly to increase it's PR.
If you are active you will get the PR prize........
    Take care

Simple, link building however don't concentrate on link building to improve your pagerank but instead focus on link building to improve your search engine rankings and traffic.
