I heard that PR is not important to get more traffic however, It is useful to indicate that it is a quality page in the eyes of Google. Can somebody explain how PR helps to get more traffic?
#google traffic #page ranks #traffic

Well some sites get huge traffic daily but not a good PR and some got a good PR but not enough traffic so it's like traffic is more important but people usually take PR as reputed site having PR 4+ and all so you should manage to get good traffic and PR both so that in all together you make it a best website. If you have a good PR then you can exchange links with high PR sites and get traffic so i think so this is the way to get traffic from PR
    Thanks

Traffic will always trump PR. I'd rather have 10,000 visitors a day and a PR of 1 then 10 visitors a day and a PR of 10.

Page rank is related to backlinks. If you have quality backlinks that means Google will rank you in higher place. So there is a relationship between traffic and page rank. PR doesn't directly relate to traffic but chances are higher PR sites have more traffic.

You should focus on getting good quality related links back to your site and not worry about PR. You are correct that some people consider your site a better site if it has high PR, but most of those people will be webmasters and not your customers. So PR will help you trade links with other webmasters, but it won't help you in the SERPs all by itself.

I agree Traffic wins out over PR. PR is a nice byproduct when you get ready to sell it but other than that. I have a PR0 site that get 3,000 hits a month. The stinks but it does make a few dollars.

Wow, i wish i was getting that sort of traffic.

My forum is PR2, but yeh i agree i would much rather have traffic.

I think PR is part of the algorithm google uses for rankings, but only part of it, so who knows how much weighting they put on it

  • You look at it from the wrong side. You start selecting a niche. Than you decide which keywords to use which will bring traffic fast enough. (at least what`s fast enough for you). And then you make a website and start making backlinks. Making backlinks is making traffic and at the same time increasing PR. More backlinks mean higher rankings, more traffic and more PR. How do you increase PR without making traffic and backlinks at the same time? Sites with a high PR and nearly any traffic have probably chosen the wrong keywords. Keywords with which they will not rank high in a million of years.

PR is a historic factor. You never know the true value of your PR, since it changes daily, but you only see it quarterly.

    Therefor it's mostly useless.

Even i think the same. Pr is not important to gain traffic. But it is true the other way. PR will make your site a respectable one.

  • You cannot take PR out of the total context of SEO. Keywords, Traffic, Backlinks and PR are all "parts" of an undividible whole. PR exist in relation to other factors, like backlinks.
If someone asks: What should I do? Build PR or traffic?, the question is: How do you build PR without building traffic at the same time? How do you build only PR and nothing else?

PR is just a way to get traffic from google, it's free and very nice... but it's depend of your keyword. Even you have PR 6 but your keyword is not good enough or only few people use that keyword, your traffic will low.
There are other way to get free traffic, don not think about PR so much

PR - It is kind of marks which google gave to your site, On other words, how google loves your site. It depends on the backlinks which you have, the traffic you are getting, Age of your site and etc....

Traffic - I don't see any connection with PR with traffic. We can get good PR, if we have good PR. However, even if we do not have good PR, we will get good Traffic with the help of strong backlinks and quality & unique content as well as ONSITE setup. Once you get more traffic and get more strong backlinks, automattically you will get good PR. However, PR does not do anything with traffic, on other way around traffic does more with PR and it increases your PR.
