Angela's links. One reason why they may work.

I read an article some time ago and wish I still had it to hand, however I do not so I will try and explain as best i can without it.

The article in question spoke about how Google determined a links value. One of these determinations was about page creation; basically it explained that Google valued links more when added to a page when the page went live than when added to a page some time after. This made sense to me; after all, if I add a new page to my website I am likely to include all the links of interest into it. Yes, I may go over the page again at a later date and add something new to it but in most cases I do not. So, the original links are the important ones and the ones which I originally referenced too, the ones which were there first and the ones which were on topic for the page. Whether or not the link "seems" relevant; it is relevant, because I added it on page creation.

Many of the links in Angela's package are profile links,in other words; links within a new page and yes, as Angela says over and over, on high PR sites. This means that they are links added on page creation and perhaps Google sees that as an extra trust point or two.

At the moment this is just theory but one I believe to be true, a good experiment would be to do the following if any one has the time.

Buy 2 similar domains and post

First domain: 30 profile links
Second domain: 30 blog links

I'm betting that even if you post 30 blog links on blogs with PR 1+ that the profile links (with no PR and no backlinks) will do more for the SERP's than the blog links with PR and perhaps "some" backlinks..

Thoughts?

I'm not sure what would win out - but it would be a great experiment to try. Once I get free time - I might give it a shot.
