I asked a firm that developed my site and are now going to do the SEO what I will be getting for my £500 each month... as in how many links etc. this is the response... Please can someone comment and give me some tips on what to do when going back to him.

I have already eyed out a few providers on this forum that give very cheap packets and link building services which I can use and for £500 I could easily build a few thousand links per month if I wanted to with that amount of money!

=======================

Unfortunately it is a bit hard to quantify the amount of links, as each one takes a different amount of time - as explained in my plan, some are actually mini web sites within themselves - so building a link can take anything from 20 minutes to an hour, so it will be changing on a monthly basis, what I can do however is send you a report after month one, which should give a rough guide as to how many it will equate to on a regular basis.

Great that you have the articles on the way, content = results. So as soon as they are added to the site, I will be cross linking them.

Well if those 1000 links are converting into top rankings or improving them, then its being done right. And if those top rankings are converting into sales then by all means continue it. But if you were promised higher rankings in a specific time period but haven't seen those then you can question them.

If you think asking them about "how many links this month" means good rankings then go for it but IMO its not worth it. Even fewer links can achieve desired rankings.

    Thats my personal experience.

      Hi Splinter,

The number of links is no indication of the value of the links. One good link can be more valuable than 10,000 lessor links. When you pay for link building services based on the number of backlinks, you tend to get the least valuable backlinks money can buy.

Better quality backlinks take skill to acquire because you are usually buying links from folks who usually don't sell links. Getting the right links is much more important than getting the most links. Knowing this, it's much more difficult to compare one service to another.

I recommend that you choose the service that goes after the right kind of links and ask for a report that details the time and money involved in securing each link to ensure you are getting your money's worth. There are some things that just don't pay to go cheap on, would you want to hire the cheapest surgeon or the cheapest airplane mechanic?

I have thought about what you have just said above and realised I should give him a go and see what the results are like and what I am getting for my money. If I am happy I stay with him, if not, I use a mixture of the link building services on here.

What time-scale is generally required to start seeing his results (note with most of my keywords I there is a search volume around the 100 million mark)

I think so you need to wait for few days to see the results and as it's per month basis job then you can track it for long term after few days and obviously they will give you some reporting of the work so hope you will get satisfied with it in the start.
    Thanks

Webmatic, cool well lets see. They reckon I need at least 6 months before I get to page 1 on google. In fact, I was told roughly the same time frame for page #1 from another firm before deciding who I was going to go with.

    Hi Splinter...

You mentioned that many of your focus keywords have around 100 million competing pages?? This number is extremely high, so it will take some time to get to page 1 for these keyword terms.. Also, once you reach page 1 it will then depend on the strength (no. and quality of backlinks, age of domain, etc) of your competition as to how quickly you can then move up the ladder to position 1.

Are there any other keywords you could perhaps try to focus on? By this, I am referring to looking at long-tail keywords that are relevant to your niche...
Here is my recommendation for attacking this:

    1. Find long-tail keywords that have no more than 500,000 competing pages (without quotes "")
    2. Long tail keyword might be "fishing charters in the carribean" rather than "fishing charters" for example
    3. Make sure you focus on "buying" terms if you are looking to sell a product or service - I cannot stress that enough
    4. Build a page/s around these terms and use some of the backlinking packs available in this forum (there are some really great offers in here)..
    5. You will find that you can rank on Google for these pages fairly quickly - which will then bring you much needed traffic...
    6. Use these pages to then drive traffic to your main site pages through keyword links built into the content..

You could have a page like this ranking on page 1 in Google within the space of a week in most cases.. And as I mentioned, this will be then bring you immediate traffic to which you can sell to directly - or drive to your main site pages..

I also offer a service that I can provide to you (and other warriors) that will give you a detailed SEO report on your web page/s versus the current top 10 in Google (or any other search engine of your choice) for the keyword/s you wish to rank for..
This report will provide in explicit detail everything you need to do step-by-step in order to rank on page 1 in the shortest amount of time possible.. This service is also fully guaranteed.. cost for report is $25 and the length of the report is usually around 50-60 pages..

I hope the information I have provided is of some benefit to you.. If you would like to talk to me about the SEO report - just send me a PM and I would be happy to help.

    Cheers,
    Simon
