Google index site with H1 text and not page title

I have few websites and some of them are indexed in Google not correctly, I mean Google indexed the sites with the H1 text as page title (in search results), and not with the <title> tag, what can cause this behavior ?

    The <h1> text acts as an alternative page <title> for SERP listing titles.

    Odds are your <h1> text is more relevant to the search query.

    Google has been rewriting titles for at least a year now, so it's possible Google rewrote the title of your site probably because it's too short. Change the title of your site to something longer and more descriptive and wait for it to be reindexed.
