Hello Everyone,

I'm very new to the forum, I'm Also a newbie to internet marketing.

I'm in the process of researching a keywords to target for my website niche.

I know there are many factors in evaluating certain words so my questions below assume all things equal.

1 - When looking at some keywords - usually product specific ones, I notice many have Amazon, Walmart, Bestbuy, etc... at the top. However most of the time the only rating that is high is the site DA, most other metrics show 1 or zero with 0 juice backlinks. With a well optimized page can you rank higher than these sites?

Thanks so much in advance to anyone who replies.

First I thing you should try with SEO. Using backlinks to rank your site first. Then, if your site is about selling products, get the traffics first!

      Thanks Bared,

Good points, to consider when I have a site up.

...I guess what I'm asking is when I am looking for a niche keyword to target and I see large domain sites like Amazon, Walmart, Bestbuy....Should I move on to another keyword, Even though the only metric that's high is the Domain Authority?

Does the Domain Authority for these large sites weigh so heavily on their ranking that they can have 0 backling, PR 1, PA0 and still be top 10?

Outranking a authority site is possible. The mater is time. Since your niche is about products, it's hard to find a keyword that top 10 is not include Amazon, Walmart...etc
